Tell us about your Corvette: 1971 Coupe that's been in the family since new. Was "stored" in a shed in New England for22 years. Even though I have limited knowledge and experience, I'm doing a body off restoration. Standby for many questions!

The builder used thick gaskets to get the needed clearance on the valve covers. Eventually, I will get taller covers - something nice to replace the "boring" stock covers. :ack:
I did that originally on my 350. Worked OK but I always carried a spare set of thick valve cover gaskets IN THE CAR. If you ever need one on the road, remember, they are not available everywhere. Sure, they can order them, but if you are traveling, that doesn't help.
Good point! I'll hve to do that if I don't get the taller covers before the car ever gets on the road...
