Just bought my first Corvette, 1971, War Bonnet Yellow base model 350 with Auto. Definite project car, runs great but interior shot, body in good condition to include floor. Quite a bit of experience with cars and mechanics in general (20 years aircraft A&P mechanic), couple of BMW track cars and some dune buggies. First experience with Corvette, thanks in advance for being able to benefit from this experience on this forum.

Welcome to the forum. I also have a '71 also, but it's in a thousand pieces right now screaming at me to get back to work on it! :willy: Floors on vettes generally are not a problem area. How is your frame and birdcage - any rust issues?

Welcome to the forum, I've always been a bit partial to war bonnet yellow myself.

Looking forward to hearing about your project and perhaps seeing a few photos. If there's any info you need just shout, it's likely someone here will have some first-hand experience to share.

Hey guys , thanks. Trailered my car in last night, my wife was a little surprised, she knew it was a project but I don't think she knew what to expect. Bette is in storage until at least winter, I've got 60 acres to take care of, doesn't leave much time for tinkering. I hope to get the body dolly built between now and the first snow. We will see.

Everything I can see of the frame looks good. Pinged around with small hammer and screwdriver, some minor surface rust but nothin that scares me, anxious to get the body off and see the cage.

Sweet. Would love to see some pics if you get a chance. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on your perspective) winter will be here before we know it!
