Funny, My paint job was not cured in a paint booth in fact I painted the car in the garage. I had posted an article on how to paint a fiberglass Vette on this forum can’t remember exactly when tough. Basically you need to use an epoxy sealer to seal any old material i.e... Paint, fillers and so on. ...

Started compounding and buffing the body on my Vette here is a preview of the end product Left Quater panel. Did you remove the control arms... pherhaps they were place backwards... Just a though.

Sorry about not being clear about the bird cage. The bird cage did not go through the same process as the frame. The bird cage frame rails were to rotted. I was lucky to find two frame rails in prestine condition. All I had to do with them was sandblast them and replace them in place were the old on...

The door weather stripping is held in place by five screws and the 3M adhesive. The weather stripping has metal plates imbedded in the rubber at both ends three by door handle and two by the hinges. The paint on the hood along with the body came out nice. I used Dupont’s Chroma base paint as well as...

Hello, during my restoration both the birdcage and frame I used pretty much the same techniques discussed by mainvette. The only difference was that I had the Frame burned in an oven at 800 degrees then chemically dips in acid. This process resulted in zero rust both inside and outside of the frame....

This weekend I started installing the weather stripping tot he doors. Ok I see the problem, your fender is sitting to far back specially the right side. when you installed the front clip did you have the doors on. Having the doors on helps aling the front clip. When installing the doors generally the gaps for the door can be attained by using two mixing paint sticks t...
