Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Got a call from the body shop today, all the body shaping is complete on the '65 and it is in the spray booth for high build primer. All the lines are straight as new and the fender peaks are sharp as a knife. Looks a little odd now, like it has been painted in camo! :) 20200121_155056-640x480.jpg 2...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Car is coming along at a steady pace. Passenger side is about finished and the door gaps are great. Rear section almost done as well. Looks like we will be removing the windshield it took so long to install. Mason (the bodyman) is worried that with all the work done by him and Jamison's, the clips a...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

It's always something, isn't it? At least progress is being made and it sounds like good progress to boot! I have a brother 8n Tampa, I'd love to see your cars when I get out that way again to visit... Paul Hey, stop by. Not much to see on the '68 but the '65 should be home late January and the 200...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Not much new on the Corvette, as the body shop has been closed for the Christmas/New Years holidays. Should re-open next week. I did order the better vents from Eckler's and Corvette Central did accept the return of the lousy vents with a full refund without any questions. I did have to pay the retu...

Merry Christmas to everyone!

I also miss seeing many posts here lately. Is everyone but me finished with their cars?

Happy New Year to all as well.

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Well, the roof vents came and what a disappointment! :bang: They said they were made of a softer metal so they could be shaped to fit the contour of the car roof if necessary, but boy did they overstate the meaning of slightly softer metal. More like play doe! One was bent to hell and back, ...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Foot is doing much better now. I can walk on it without assistance and today, now that the incision is almost completely healed and the swelling has gone down quite a bit, I trashed that stupid boot and put my New Balance shoes back on. The boot was causing more pain and discomfort from no support t...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

It's been a few days now and I can finally walk without crutches, but not for long and very carefully. The wound has healed very well, but still needs attention. No pain, but a sort of partial numbness in the bottom of my foot. That is gradually going away, but still feels weird. Stopped by the Corv...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

I see I failed to bring up something else I have going on. A week and a half ago I went in for foot surgery. I had been having a lot of problems with a nerve pain in my right ankle, and an MRI showed a cyst growing next to the nerve. The MRI was not an MRI with Definition, just a standard MRI of the...
